Fiji Pine Limited operates Fiji's largest commercial timber plantation — over 50,000 hectares of Pinus caribaea. These five XCMG machines were selected specifically for Fiji Pine's complete harvest cycle, terrain profile, and port logistics requirements: a logging excavator, a log skidder, a low-ground-pressure bulldozer, and dual-configuration 12-wheeler trucks for both log haulage and container freight.
Before harvest begins, the D-170-LGP dozer cuts and grades access tracks into the plantation block. Its low ground pressure (26–30 kPa) protects the soft tropical soil, while the blade and rear winch clear vegetation and snig felled timber to the track edge.
The XE135F forestry excavator with hydraulic grapple selects and moves individual logs from the plantation block with minimal ground disturbance — precise, low-impact harvesting in dense Pinus caribaea stands.
The XC360 wheeled skidder extracts bunched logs from steep terrain and delivers them to the landing — fast cycle times, powerful winch, and rubber tyres that minimise track damage on plantation roads.
The G7 6×4 log truck hauls timber from the landing to the mill on mixed plantation and highway routes — agile, fully loaded, and built for Fiji's road conditions.
The G7 8×4 with container-swap body handles export timber from mill to port — the same truck serves both log and container freight, maximising asset utilisation for Fiji Pine's export operations.

In Australian and South Pacific logging, the bulldozer is not optional — it is the machine that makes everything else possible. Before a single log can be extracted, the dozer cuts access roads into the block, clears the landing, and sniggs timber from terrain too steep or wet for wheeled machines. In Fiji's wet-season conditions, where plantation soils become saturated and soft, a standard dozer would bog and damage the ground. The D-170-LGP's wide-track configuration reduces ground pressure to just 26–30 kPa — enabling year-round operation without tearing up the soil profile that Fiji Pine's replanting programme depends on.
XCMG forestry machines are deployed in rainforest operations across Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific — environments that closely mirror Fiji's plantation conditions. The XE135F has been specifically validated for tropical forestry, including operations in Pinus caribaea plantations.
The G7 log trucks' container-swap capability is a unique advantage for Fiji Pine's export operations — the same fleet that hauls logs from Nadroga to Lautoka can swap to container bodies for port freight, maximising asset utilisation.
